Once Upon An...Irish Summer by Lisa T. Bergren
Fiona Burke is in Ireland to research and finish up her dissertation. She has no interest in a summer romance, but Rory O'Malley draws her from the moment she meets him. Rory is staying the summer on his grandfather's farm. Dealing with PTSD and a broken heart, Rory has closed his heart to anyone trying to get close. He has no intention of opening his heart to Fiona. But Fiona's enthusiasm for her dissertation subject is hard to ignore and soon Rory and Fiona find themselves enjoying each other's company as well as the hunt for information on one of Rory's ancestors.
I absolutely loved this book! The author has a way of making the reader feel like they are smack dab in the middle of the setting. I felt like I was seeing all of the sites that Fiona was as she visited. The countryside was vividly depicted as well as all of the ancient ruins. The romance between Rory and Fiona was sweet and their tenderness with each other was definitely sigh-worthy. A bit of treasure hunting, a bit of the dastardly villain, and a lot of romance and this book was an enjoyable get-away for a couple of days. I definitely recommend it.
