Raine's job for the summer is a Bible teacher at summer camp. Cal the camp art teacher and Aly her roommate have taken it upon themselves to educate the naive Christian girl. Will Raine be able to stand up for her beliefs or will her faith be rocked?
Then there is Drew, the camp music director who grew up teasing Raine by constantly calling her Rainey. Still holding on to the girl he was sure God told him he was going to marry even though she dumped him 6 years ago. Drew and Raine have chemistry between them, they both are believers, they pray together, they encourage each other, but with each of them having their hearts tied to someone else they determine to tamp down their attraction to each other.
Set in New Smyrna beach Florida, Kicking Eternity is a perfect summer beach read. While Raine's confusion over Cal and enabling of her brother Eddy frustrated and angered me at times, waiting to see how the relationships played out kept me turning the pages. I also found myself taken back to my younger days when I was less mature in my faith and allowed temptations to govern my actions, so I found Raine's character very relatable. Ann Lee Miller writes real characters facing real-life temptations and struggles with faith that I think every young person can relate to.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Kirra's college years are a subject that she would prefer not to talk about, but one of their leads takes them back to the very place of her worst nightmare. Kirra is willing to do anything though to save her cousin.
The Lord has gotten hold of playboy Reef and he is a changed man. Throughout their investigation Kirra learns that she can not only renew her trust in the Lord, but she can also rely on Reef to help her through this ordeal.
SABOTAGED is the last book in the Alaskan Courage series and I totally enjoyed it. I thought this last book had more of a spiritual tone to it than the others in the series. I thought author Dani Pettrey did a very good job in exploring the question of why God allows bad things to happen without giving a pat answer or becoming overly preachy. As with all of the books in the Alaskan Courage series there were some great suspense moments that had this reader on the edge of my seat. If you haven't read any of this series I highly recommend it. Dani Pettrey fast became a favorite author for me and I look forward to her next project!
BOOK AND AUTHOR STATS FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Growing up, goody-two-shoes Kirra Jacobs and troublemaker Reef McKenna were always at odds. Now paired together on Yancey’s search-and-rescue canine unit, they begin to put aside old arguments as they come to see each other in a different light.
Then a call comes in from the Iditarod that will push them to their limits. Kirra’s uncle, a musher in the race, has disappeared. Kirra and Reef quickly track the man, but what they discover is harrowing. Frank’s daughter has been kidnapped. In order to save her, the man must use his knowledge as a mechanical engineer to do the kidnapper’s bidding or she will die.
Kirra and Reef, along with the entire McKenna family, are thrown into a race to stop a shadowy villain who is not only threatening a girl’s life, but appears willing to unleash one of the largest disasters Alaska has ever seen.

Creed has no idea he is a father until someone tells him about Holly having a baby. Framed for murder Creed is on the run. Hiding from the police and from the drug dealers that are out to kill him, Creed only wants one look at his baby.
In the meantime Cathy is still petitioning the governor to pardon Michael. Cathy and her sisters are working to keep Michael's private detective business open. Cathy is also busy planning their wedding for when Michael is let out of jail. When they finally catch up with Creed he has information that could lead them to find the man that killed Michael's brother Joe.
Leonard Miller has no intention of being caught. With fingers reaching even into the police department lives are in danger and he is determined that Creed never speak to the police.
I always enjoy a Terri Blackstock novel. Romance and suspense abound! Throughout the Moonlighters series Cathy, Juliet and Holly have grown as characters. Each one has struggled with their faith after their pastor father had an affair. Holly was a young child when he left the family and spent the years acting out. Now that she has a daughter of her own it is good to see her claiming responsibility and learning that she has a Savior who forgives and is waiting with open arms for her. Creed, coming from a Christian home, has also gone his own way. It is good to see Holly explaining to Creed about the forgiveness that she has experienced. Twisted Innocence does not hold back on the gritty suspense that Terri Blackstock is known for. Page after page of suspense kept my heartbeat racing and fingers turning to the pulse-pounding conclusion. Terri Blackstock does not disappoint!
